EazyAL vs Talkguest: Why i built EazyAL instead

Disclosure: I am the founder of EazyAL, so this is not an independent review. I have tried to make the comparison fair and have based the Talkguest details on its public website. Features and prices can change, so check both products before making a decision.

When I first looked for software to help with Alojamento Local in Portugal, Talkguest was one of the first names I found.

It is a capable, established platform. Its goal is ambitious: give property managers one system for channels, reservations, guest communication, pricing, check-in, tasks, finances, direct bookings and owner reporting. If the hardest part of your business is coordinating all of those operations, that all-in-one approach makes sense.

But I kept coming back to a simpler question:

If my bookings already work, why should I replace the way I run my entire business just to solve Portuguese compliance?

That question is what lead me to build EazyAL.

The problem I had

My main problem was not managing bookings. Airbnb and Booking.com already handled my calendar, prices and guest messages well enough for the way I hosted.

The gap appeared after the reservation:

  • collecting the identity details from every guest;

  • preparing monthly counts when my property was selected to report;

  • calculating the correct tourist tax for my municipality

  • keeping invoicing information connected to the stay; and

  • organising Airbnb and Booking.com commissions for Modelo 30.

None of these tasks is impossible by itself. The difficulty is that they sit across different portals, follow different rules and deadlines, and rarely give hosts one clear view of what has been completed and what still needs attention.

I did not want a larger operating system. I wanted a reliable way to answer those questions for every stay. I found using an excel sheet , time consuming and messy!

So I built EazyAL

EazyAL began with a deliberately focused idea: collect guest details once, reuse them across the supported compliance workflows.

A guest completes one digital check-in form. EazyAL then saves that guest and stay, and re uses the details for:

  • SIBA/AIMA preparation and status tracking, including direct Web Service sending for eligible properties and guided workflows for Portal or File Upload setups;

  • IPHH preparation for properties required to report through WebInq;

  • municipality-specific tourist-tax calculations;

  • invoicing information that can continue through certified Vendus software; and

  • Modelo 30 preparation, checks and XML export for relevant non-resident platform commissions.

EazyAL has grown, but the principle has not changed

The first version of EazyAL was not designed to replace a host’s booking platform or PMS. It was designed to work beside it.

Since then, the product has grown. The EazyAL product model now has three practical paths, with Channel Manager still presented publicly as an early-access option:

  1. Keep an existing PMS. EazyAL adds the guest-form and Portuguese compliance workflow without asking the host to migrate the rest of the business.

  2. Manage Airbnb and Booking.com directly. Calendar sync through iCal is a complete setup, not an unfinished version of the product.

  3. Use EazyAL Channel Manager. Hosts who want deeper Airbnb and Booking.com connectivity can add it to the same compliance-centred workspace as availability expands.

That third option does not undo the original idea. Channel management is an optional layer, not the price of entry. A host should be able to solve the compliance problem without being forced to replatform everything else.

Where Talkguest is the stronger choice

Talkguest is the more complete operational platform. Its public product pages include a channel manager, centralised guest communication, dynamic-pricing integration, staff and task management, a financial suite, a direct-booking website, management commissions and an owner portal.

That is a strong fit when your real bottleneck is broader than compliance—for example:

  • coordinating staff, cleaning and maintenance;

  • managing messages across several booking channels;

  • changing prices and availability from one system;

  • reporting performance and commissions to property owners; or

  • running direct bookings from your own website.

If those operational problems consume more time than the Portuguese reporting itself, an all-in-one PMS may save you more time overall. Talkguest is likely the more natural choice.

Where EazyAL is the stronger choice

EazyAL is the more focused choice when your booking setup already works and the missing piece is Portuguese compliance.

It is particularly suited to hosts who want to:

EazyAL does not currently try to replace Talkguest’s full task manager, maintenance coordination, owner portal, direct-booking website or broad financial suite. That is intentional product focus, not a claim that those tools are unimportant.

Pricing note: These public prices were checked on 22 August 2026. Talkguest and EazyAL package different capabilities, and the pricing models are not directly equivalent. Talkguest’s unlimited-property model may be attractive to portfolio managers; EazyAL’s value is the ability to start with a compliance-focused workflow rather than the lowest theoretical price for every portfolio size. The honest dividing line

Choose Talkguest when you want one platform to become the operating centre of your rental business: channels, pricing, communication, staff, tasks, finances, owners and direct bookings.

Choose EazyAL when your existing booking setup is good enough and you want to solve the Portuguese compliance work first—with the option to add deeper booking connectivity later.

There is overlap between the products. Both offer online check-in, SIBA/AIMA support, tourist-tax tools and channel connectivity. The difference is not that one has compliance and the other does not. The difference is where each product begins and how much of your existing operation it expects to own.

Why I would still build EazyAL

I did not build EazyAL because Talkguest was a bad product. I built it because there was a gap between two extremes:

  • doing everything manually through spreadsheets and government portals; or

  • moving the whole rental business into a full property-management system.

Many hosts I speak with are not trying to rebuild their business. They are trying to stop chasing passport details, understand whether SIBA accepted a bulletin, calculate the right tourist tax and arrive at the next deadline with the correct information ready.

EazyAL is for that moment.

Start with the painful Portuguese compliance work. Keep the tools that already serve you. Add more automation only when it solves a problem you actually have.

That is the product I needed as a host—and it is still the principle guiding what I build today.
